The beautiful simplicity of this handcrafted elm log table is the ideal representation of nature in its simplest form, purposely harvested, and adapted for domestic use. The brushed texture upon the wood's surface brings to the forefront the character of the material, further amplifying the graining of the timber and the cracks and dimensional knots therein, giving the material a renewed purpose as stylish, richly organic additions to contemporary spaces. 

This eco-friendly log side table is the epitome of beauty and sustainability. Richly hued and finished with a wire-brushed texture, our solid Elm wood logs tables are individually made by hand at our workshop in New Mexico. Siberian Elm is an aggressive tree species in New Mexico, originally introduced to provide canopy and windbreak, but now providing many challenges through its unbounded success.  It thrives under low moisture conditions, vigorously outcompeting more desirable species. Pfeifer Studio works with local arborists to remove these invasive trees from residential and public spaces, turning them into beautiful, useful furniture pieces for our sustainability-conscious clientele. Dried in a solar kiln, these diminutive go-anywhere pieces help preserve the balance of our valley, and the balance of your style.

This non-native tree species has become a pervasive force along the Rio Grande Valley, swiftly outcompeting native species and diminishing the ecological balance.

CARE

• Interior Finish - Finished with a penetrating oil finish, our designs can be placed in interior residential or commercial spaces. To best care for your new piece simply dust with a dry, soft cloth. Spot cleaning may be done with a damp soft cloth. A mild soap solution may be used. Avoid care products with ammonia, silicone or other chemicals which may harm the finish. BioShield® Hard Wax #32 has been applied for added protection. Periodic waxing will extend the life of the finish.

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return the item(s) within 30 days of receiving the order for a full refund of the merchandise cost.
